What was found in tested M&M's pills?

M&M's pill reports can differ in colour, contents and strength. Recorded samples are most often blue (19%), grey (16%) and brown (11%). Of the 37 samples, 21 had a measured MDMA content: from 108 mg to 222 mg, with half coming in above 175 mg and one in ten above 207 mg.

The two Ms are Forrest Mars Sr. and Bruce Murrie, who put a sugar shell around chocolate in 1941 so it could be carried without melting. A candy built to survive a pocket became a pill stamp for the obvious reason: everyone knows it on sight, and the button shape is already the shape of a tablet.

It is one of the few logos here that never settles on a color. Blue leads, then gray, yellow, brown and green, which looks more like a bag of the candy than like a batch. DrugsPRO currently holds 37 photographed samples under this logo, and every classified sample so far has contained MDMA.

Across the 21 with a measured MDMA content, results run from 108 mg to 222 mg, with half of everything measured here coming in above 175 mg. Consistent contents are not consistent strength, and the logo still names no producer. Check the pill in your hand with your own reagent test, used according to the kit instructions.

The M&M's stamp is used on the illegal market for tablets of different composition. The name, the press and the colour are not reliable marks of a particular batch. Even tablets bought in the same place and looking the same can come from different production runs.

Laboratory results show wide differences in dose, purity and adulterants. A tablet sold as ecstasy can carry an unexpectedly high MDMA dose, other stimulants, or substances that were never declared. That is what raises the risk of overheating, circulatory problems, serotonin syndrome and overdose, and it is exactly what a test answers before anyone takes anything.
